Cookies Policy

1. What cookies we use in Phase 0

None. aihotelhub.eu does not set any cookies of its own in Phase 0. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no session cookies.

Self-hosted Plausible (our analytics tool, running on the same Frankfurt server as this site) is cookieless by design — it counts page views aggregated by URL, country (at country level), and referrer, without setting any cookie or storing your IP address.

2. Why no consent banner is required

The EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) Art. 5(3) and Bulgarian transposition require user consent before storing or accessing information on the user's device except where strictly necessary for a service requested by the user. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics that do not store anything on the device fall outside the consent requirement.

The European Data Protection Board's Cookie Banner Taskforce report (January 2023) and Opinion 08/2024 on consent confirm that cookieless analytics not relying on terminal-device storage are not subject to ePrivacy Art. 5(3) and require neither consent nor a banner, provided the underlying data processing has a valid lawful basis under GDPR Art. 6 (in our case, legitimate interest — see Privacy Policy §3).

Therefore, you do not see a consent banner on aihotelhub.eu, and this is fully compliant.

3. Local storage

The website may use the browser's localStorage to remember your language preference (e.g. you switched the site to German) and, if later enabled, your light/dark theme choice. These are first-party preferences stored only in your browser, not transmitted to our server, not used for tracking, and qualify as "strictly necessary for the service requested by the user" under Art. 5(3) ePrivacy.

4. Third-party cookies

We do not embed third-party widgets that set cookies (no Facebook Like button, no Twitter embeds, no YouTube embeds, no Google Maps). We do not load Google Fonts from Google's CDN (we self-host fonts on the Frankfurt server). Outbound links to the Telegram bot, booking platforms (Booking.com, etc.), and our company's other site do not set cookies on aihotelhub.eu — they may set cookies on their own domain once you click through.

5. What will change in Phase 1

Stripe Checkout cookies — when you tap "Subscribe" and are sent to Stripe's hosted checkout page, Stripe sets its own essential cookies on stripe.com. These are not set on aihotelhub.eu and are governed by Stripe's policies.
Possible essential session cookie — if we add a logged-in user portal in Phase 1, we may set one cookie storing a session token, used only to keep you logged in. This qualifies as "strictly necessary for the service requested by the user" under ePrivacy Art. 5(3) and does not require a consent banner. Lifetime: 30 days, HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict.

6. What we will NOT do

We commit to not adding non-essential cookies — no advertising trackers, no cross-site analytics platforms (Google Analytics 4, Facebook Pixel), no remarketing tags. If business requirements ever change to require non-essential cookies, we will implement a proper opt-in consent banner that defaults to "deny all" and only loads tracking after explicit consent. We commit not to require this in Phase 0 or Phase 1.

7. How to verify

Open your browser developer tools (Right-click → Inspect → Application → Storage → Cookies) while visiting aihotelhub.eu. You should see zero cookies for the aihotelhub.eu domain. If you see one, please email support@darkforesttarotcards.com — it would be a defect.
